4. Move the throttle control midway between the
Slow and Fast positions (Figure 13).

5. Turn the ignition key to the Start position
(Figure 14). When the engines starts, release
the key.
Important: Do not engage starter for
more than 10 seconds at a time. If the
engine fails to start allow a 60 second
cool-down period between attempts.
Failure to follow these instructions can
burn out starter motor.

Stopping the Engine
1. Push the PTO to the Off position (Figure 12).
2. Move the throttle lever midway between the
Slow and Fast positions (Figure 13).
3. Let the engine idle for 60 seconds.
4. Turn the ignition key to the Off position and
remove the key (Figure 14).
5. Close the fuel shut off valve before
transporting or storing the machine. Refer to
Fuel System Maintenance, page 38.
Important: Make sure that the fuel
shut off valve is closed before transporting
or storing the machine, as fuel leakage
may occur. Set the parking brake before
transporting. Make sure to remove the key
as the fuel pump may run and cause the
battery to lose charge.
Children or bystanders may be injured
if they move or attempt to operate the
tractor while it is unattended.
Always remove the ignition key and
set the parking brake when leaving the
machine unattended, even if just for a
few minutes.

Operating in Cool Weather

The engine on this machine may take 5 to 15
minutes to reach full operating temperature in cool
weather conditions.
