    Do not install the UPA-200 on any stand, shelf, or other piece of furniture that is unable to support its weight. If a cart is used to move the unit, use caution to avoid injury from tip-over.

    Thank you for purchasing your new UPA-200 stereo power amplifier. The UPA-200 is the perfect choice as the centerpiece of a stereo audiophile system or the muscle for the front channels of a superb home theater system. The UPA-200 delivers 125 watts per channel into 8 Ohms and 200 watts per channel into 4 Ohms of truly dynamic, superb sounding, clean power.

    About This Manual This manual will provide you with all the information you need to get great performance, accurate sound, and many years of reliable service from your UPA-200 stereo power amplifier. We suggest that you read through the entire manual; we kept things as short and direct as possible.

    UPA-200 concentrates on only one thing: delivering clean power to drive your speakers. When connected directly to a preamp or pre/pro, the UPA-200 will serve as the centerpiece of a true audiophile quality sound system; when connected to the preamp outputs of your current receiver, it will give you a significant improvement in both measured performance and musical enjoyment.

    UPA-200 Unpacking Your UPA-200 was carefully packed and should reach you in perfect condition. If you notice any shipping damage or other issues when you unpack it, please contact Emotiva immediately. Gently remove your UPA-200 from the packing carton and remove all wrappings and shipping material.

    4. AC Power Switch Switches the mains AC power to the UPA-200 On and Off. When this switch is off, no controls operate (the UPA-200 cannot be turned On from the front panel).

    UPA-200 Quick Start To get the most from your UPA-200, we urge you to read the entire manual. If you just can’t wait to listen to it, this section will cover the basics you need to get started: • Find a secure location for your UPA-200.

    UPA-200 will return to Standby mode. The Trigger Output sends out 12 VDC whenever the main power to the UPA-200 is On (and NOT when it is in Standby mode) which can be used to switch on other units with trigger capabilities.

    AC Power switch (rear panel) The rear-panel AC power switch controls the main AC power for your UPA-200. When this switch is in the Off position, the amplifier will not operate. Turning it On will put the UPA-200 into Standby mode.

    If necessary, the UPA-200 should be cleaned gently with a soft rag. • If something sticky gets on the front panel or case of the UPA-200, it should be cleaned with a mild cleaning solution applied to a soft rag, followed by wiping with a clean rag dampened with plain water and drying with a soft dry rag or cloth.

Protection: The UPA-200 is protected against excessive operating temperature, shorted speaker connections, ground faults, and other common fault conditions. If a fault occurs, the UPA- 200 will return to Standby mode, the Standby push button will light amber, and the Status LEDs will flash red.

    We really doubt you’ll ever have any problems with your UPA-200 but, if you do, here are a few things you could try: Problem: No sound is heard from either (any) channel (nothing is lit).
