advanced GMRS Two-Way Radio & Scanner ever made.
The WOUXUN KG-UV9G is built upon the trusted performance,
proven design and quality manufacturing of the KG-UV9D(Plus) and
KG-UV9P amateur radios. It has been modified to comply with FCC
GMRS specifications and regulations to deliver unparalleled
recreational, EmComm and SHTF communications & scanning.
ATTENTION
Please read this entire manual addendum as it contains important safety
and compliance information for the proper handling and operation of your
new GMRS radio. The information in this addendum supersedes and
highlights differences between the enclosed original KG-UV9P manual and
this new KG-UV9G model.
COMPLIANCE
Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party
responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the
equipment.
This device complies with PART 15B of the FCC Rules.
Operation is subject to the following two conditions:
1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and

2) This device must accept any interference received, including
interference that may cause undesired operation.
WARNING: MODIFICATION OF THIS DEVICE TO RECEIVE CELLULAR
RADIOTELEPHONE SERVICE SIGNALS IS PROHIBITED UNDER FCC RULES
AND FEDERAL LAW.
This device meets the requirements of FCC PART 15.121(b) for scanning
receivers in the following frequency ranges (MHz): 76-108 / 108-136
136-180 / 230-250 / 350-400 / 400-512 / 700-824 / 849-869 / 894-960.
FCC Radiation Exposure Statement
This equipment complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an
uncontrolled environment. This equipment should be installed and operated
with a minimum distance of 2.5 cm between the radiator and your body. The
antenna used for this device must not be co-located or operating in
conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.
The device is authorized to operate at a duty factor not exceed 50%
–– Feature Differences ––
The following features available in the original KG-UV9P have been removed
or modified to comply with FCC GMRS regulations.
Cross-Band Repeater: Removed; Not allowed on GMRS.
− Shift Direction: GMRS repeaters are positive offset only.
+ Shift Direction: Allowed only on GMRS repeater pairs.
Power Levels: Restricted on some frequencies per FCC.

–– Feature Additions & Improvements ––
The following features have been added or improved upon from the original
KG-UV9P.
Scanning Advance: When scanning in TO or CO Scan
Modes [
MENU 28_SC–REV
Knob in either direction to immediately advance/resume
scanning when you've encountered an unwanted signal. See
Scanning section on page 4 for more details.
–– Basic Operation ––
Key Presses: The PF2 & PF3 side-keys and several front
panel keypad keys allow short and long presses to access
primary & secondary functions (such as ✱ for the REV/SCAN
functions — see the Programmable Function Keys section
on the reverse).
A "long-press" involves holding down a key for about 1–2
seconds to activate the alternate key function, rather than a
momentary "short-press" for the primary key function.

FCC PART 95 Warning
This device operates on GMRS (General
Mobile Radio Service) frequencies, which
require an FCC (Federal Communications
Commission) license. You must be
licensed prior to transmitting on these
frequencies. Serious penalties could
result for unlicensed use of GMRS
frequencies in violation of FCC rules, as
stipulated in the Communications Act's
Sections 501 and 502 (amended). You
will be issued a call sign by the FCC,
which should be used for station
identification when operating the radio
on GMRS frequencies. You should also
cooperate by engaging in permissible
transmissions only, avoiding channel
interference with other GMRS users,
and being prudent with the length of
your transmission time. To obtain a
license or ask questions about the
license application, contact the FCC at
1-888-CALL-FCC or go to the FCC's
website: http://www.fcc.gov and
request form 605.
