Feeler gauge – 5910 893 6400 or equivalent

Socket, 16 mm, long

Checking, Adjusting Valve Clearance
Check or adjust valve clearance only when the engine is
cold.
Preparations, @ 3.1.
N
Remove the rewind starter, @ 6.2.
N
Remove the spark plug (1).
N
Unscrew the screw (3) and remove it with the
N
cover (2).
Take out the screw (4).
N
Remove the sealing ring (5).
N
Remove the valve cover (6).
N
Remove the gasket (7).
N

M10x1 (12 Nm / 106 lbf. in.)

M5x12 (4 Nm / 35 lbf. in.)
Rotate the flywheel (9) so that the mark (arrow) points
N
to the center of the short arm (arrow) of the ignition
module and the rocker arms do not move in the
process.
If the rocker arms move when the flywheel (9) is
N
rotated: Turn the flywheel (9) one more revolution.
