Do you have a question about the RL25U and is the answer not in the manual?
Questions and answers
we cannot get the pump to consistency push water through the hose. It seems to have to be primed(hose). Very frustrating, works for a bit then stops. I have a basement full of water.
To fix the priming issue with the Red Lion RL25U pump:
1. Avoid Air Locking: Always place the pump in water while it is turned off, then plug it in. Placing it in water while running can trap air and prevent water flow.
2. Check for Obstructions:
- Clean the filter screen if it is clogged.
- Inspect and clean the pump and impeller if blocked or stuck.
3. Reduce Suction Height: Lower the pump closer to the water source if the suction height is too high.
4. Check Hose and Discharge Line:
- Use a short, large-diameter hose to reduce friction losses.
- Ensure the hose is not kinked or blocked.
5. Minimize Pipe Length: Keep the piping as short as possible for better flow.
6. Inspect for Wear: If the impeller is worn due to abrasives, the pump may need replacement.
