DPOAE measurement is fully automated. In other words with the Titan, it is not necessary to monitor probe check information yourself, but you are of course welcome to do so. The following paragraphs give a few ideas about the information that can be gained from the probe check graph.
Page 18
Below an example is shown for the adult ear where the probe has almost fallen out. Looking at the low frequency area of the graph will also give you information about whether or not the probe is in the ear. Titan DPOAE Operating Manual Page 18...
The DP-Gram can be shown in bar view or graph view. Your preference for these views is defined in the protocol setup and can also temporarily be changed in the temporary settings. The following information can be found in the DP-Gram bar view: Titan DPOAE Operating Manual Page 19...
DP freq. refers to the frequency (in Hz) where the main DPOAE can be expected. That is the 2f DP S/N ratio indicates the difference between the absolute value of the DPOAE and the noise floor around the DP freq. This difference is the signal to noise ratio. Titan DPOAE Operating Manual Page 20...
Page 21
Within the general setup you can set whether or not the norm data area is to be displayed. Using the right mouse click on the DP-Gram gives the following additional functions: Titan DPOAE Operating Manual Page 21...
Continue will measure all inserted frequencies without a time limit. Press Stop when the additional points are sufficiently tested. 11. Next measurement point interrupts the automatic test procedure and forces the Titan to start testing the next frequency immediately. This function is available when max test point has been selected in the protocol.
Press Stop when the additional points are sufficiently tested. 9. Next measurement point interrupts the automatic test procedure and forces the Titan to start testing at the next intensity immediately. This function is available when max test point has been selected in the protocol.
If the stimuli tolerance cannot be reached after replacing the probe in the patient‟s ear, the user can press Continue. This will restart the testing overruling the stimuli tolerance level settings for the current frequency. To stop testing, press Stop. Titan DPOAE Operating Manual Page 24...
The User Guide setup is accessed by going to Menu | Setup | User guide setup The default setup for the User Guide has preselected guidance pictures and text. All four guide pictures and test instructions are selected and Show user guide when module starts is checked. Titan DPOAE Operating Manual Page 25...
If data is measured before you enter temporary setup you are prompted to save or discard the data. In temporary setup the same options are available as in the normal protocol settings. Titan DPOAE Operating Manual Page 26...

Operating Titan You will find that the use of the Titan as a hand held device is very intuitive. When switching on the Titan in handheld mode, it will usually start in the Test screen of the protocol that was previously used for testing.
4.4.1 Test Usually, the Titan starts in the Test screen. When 2 3 4 deleting or saving data after a measurement, you will also return to this screen. The following information can be viewed on the screen: 1. Next to the word Test, the header shows the status of the probe: ready, in ear, out of ear, leaking or blocked.
4.4.2 Done The Titan will automatically go to the Done! screen when it has finished testing a protocol. From here, measurements from both ears can be reviewed, printed and/or saved. Operating from this screen: Top left button will result in printing the test results of the left and right ears.
Select Client & Save From this screen you can either save data to an existing client that has been uploaded to the Titan from your database or save data to a new client name. New clients will always get the name “No Name #”, where # stands for the next available number.

Protocols that have been created in the Titan Suite can be transferred to the hand held unit for use. In order to perform a transfer, connect the Titan to the PC via the cradle or USB cable, switch it on and open the Titan Suite. You cannot transfer protocols if the Suite is running in simulation mode.
