    MAGNUM HAND WINCH OWNERS GUIDE GENERAL Congratulations on your purchase of an ARB Magnum Hand Winch. Your Magnum Hand Winch has been designed specifically for vehicle recovery and in conjunction with the appropriate accessories and proper care and maintenance, will give years of trouble free operation.

    MAGNUM HAND WINCH OWNERS GUIDE FIG 1 OPERATING PRINCIPAL The Magnum Hand Winch is a hand operated pulling and lifting device. Being portable it may also be used for tensioning, lowering and guying. The instructions contained within this manual are specific to vehicle recovery, as are the accessories that complement the winch.

    Accessories such as Tree Trunk Protectors, Winch Extension Straps, Snatch Blocks and Bow Shackles may be required to use the winch safely. A list of quality ARB recovery accessories is on page 9. Figures 2-5 show examples of correct rigging and anchoring procedures.

Uncoil the wire rope from the reeler in a straight line to prevent kinks.(Fig.6) 2. Push the rope release lever forward into the locked position.     Do not use chemical degreasers, graphite or molybdenum disulphide grease as these may damage the rope. If there is any unacceptable wear the rope should be returned to an ARB Stockist or approved repairer for further inspection. NOTE: Always use approved leather gloves when handling the wire rope.

This pin is fitted to the base of the forward handle and in the event that you overload the winch, the pin will break, preventing further forward winching.
