Fn key
The Fn key is used to enable or operate the additional function keys
on the keyboard. The additional function keys that can be activated
using the Fn key include the F1 to F12 keys.

NOTE
The symbol function is preset for the function keys F1 to F12 in the
factory settings. To temporarily set the related functions of the F1 to F12
keys as primary, press the Fn key and the Esc key at the same time. If you
want to keep this constellation permanently, change the settings for the
function keys in the BIOS.
To activate and use the respective functions, press the required function
key for preset functions or hold down the Fn key and simultaneously press
the key with the desired symbol:

Mute | Standard key for accessing the help function
of the program in use
Decrease the volume | Standard key for quickly renaming
file names or folders
Increase the volume | Standard key for opening the
search function
Choice of screen output ["Project"] | Standard key for
activating the address bar in Internet Explorer [Alt + F4
closes the current window]
Decrease the display brightness | Standard key for
updating drives and Internet pages [Ctrl + F5 clears
cached images and texts in Internet Explorer]
Increase display brightness | Standard key for moving the
cursor within the window areas [address line, task and
content area]
Toggle on/off as well as gradually regulating the
background keyboard lighting | Standard key without
functionality in Windows; used for special functions
in various programs
