To switch users on Facebook Portal, tap on your profile picture in the upper right corner. Then, add a second user by having them connect their device, go to facebook.com/device, enter the code, or sign in using their Facebook password. Once added, you can toggle between users from the same menu.

To add a new Wi-Fi address, tap the three lines with an X (indicating no Wi-Fi connection). Select your name, swipe over, and tap the Settings button. In the settings menu, tap Wi-Fi, select your network, enter the password if required, and tap Join to connect.

If you cannot access settings on your Facebook Portal, you can reset it to default settings by removing all connected accounts. Removing all accounts will automatically factory reset the Portal. If you cannot remove accounts manually, you may need to perform a hardware reset by pressing the physical reset button on the device.

Unplugged portal to move but now it will not start again. I've tried it in original location but it doesn't work.

Your Facebook Portal may not start after moving it due to a change in the Wi-Fi password or network settings. If the device is stuck on the "Log in or Factory Reset Page" and a factory reset does not work, it may be unable to connect properly. Try checking your Wi-Fi settings, ensuring the correct password is used, and performing a manual reset if necessary.

my portal won"t voice respond even after a factory re-start

February 16, 2025

The provided context does not explicitly state why Facebook Portal is not responding to voice commands after a factory reset. However, possible reasons could include the "Hey Portal" command no longer being supported, as mentioned in the first document, or the need to reconfigure settings such as Alexa after the reset, as suggested in the third document. You may need to check if voice commands are enabled and properly set up again in the settings.

The microphone on/off button on the Facebook Portal is a hardware-based switch that disables both the camera and microphone. When pressed, it activates a dedicated chip to shut down these devices, and a red indicator light confirms they are disabled.

Yes, the Facebook Portal can display and rotate through photos on the screen. It functions as a digital photo frame, allowing users to adjust slideshow settings such as transition speed. Users can also link their Instagram accounts to display photos from Instagram on the Portal.

I recently had to get a new Facebook password. I can log into Facebook on my computer and my phone with the new password, but I cannot log into my Portal TV from Facebook. I keep getting an error message. Besides trying the password again (which I've done multiple times), my only other option is a factory reset. Any suggestions?

If you changed your Facebook password, your account will be removed from your Portal. To troubleshoot login issues:

1. Re-add your Facebook account to the Portal.
2. If you're unable to log in via facebook.com/device and receive an error, try again later.
3. If the issue persists, perform a reset:
- For Portal Plus: Hold the volume down and power buttons for 10 seconds.
- For other models: Plug in power while holding both volume buttons for 10 seconds.
4. If none of these steps work, contact Facebook support for help.
