HMP155 User Guide
To prevent corrosion and oxidation, use copper paste or equivalent on screws and
connector threads.
3.3 Wiring HMP155
It is a good practice to protect the instrument cable according to low voltage electrical
installations standards (IEC 60364-4-43, or equivalent standard).
Vaisala recommends protecting the power line of HMP155 probe and its cabling
with a fuse or a circuit breaker, especially when the power supply can supply
more than 2.5 A.
If you use Vaisala connection cables (223283, 220496, 220497, 220498), the
recommended maximum sizes of the fuses and circuit breakers for protecting the
power supply line are:
• 1 A with type B (IEC/EN 60898-1) tripping characteristics and specified for at
least 28 VDC operation voltage
• 1 A cartridge fuse with T-type (IEC 60127-2) tripping characteristics and
specified for at least 28 VDC operation voltage
If you use your own cables, make sure the current-carrying capacity of them adheres to the
maximum fuse size.

When you use the recommended fuse or circuit breaker types, HMP155 is a limited-energy
circuit according IEC 61010-1.
The current consumption of all the HMP155 probes is below 300 mA.
3.3.1 8-pin connector
HMP155 has an 8-pin M12 male connector on the bottom of the probe.
