Introduction

This manual provides instructions for installing and testing a Telecenter IV. Except for the

procedure covering initial system installation and checkout, procedures for installing and

checking-out the internal and interconnected communications systems are kept separate.

Use only the procedures applicable to the site requirements.

Unless otherwise stated, the procedures assume the central chassis has been wired at the

factory, DIP switches have been preset, and the installer has a completed copy of the

System Planning Worksheet.

Special Note:

If interconnecting a Telecenter IV to the public utility, read the

before beginning installation.

Installation FCC Requirements Rauland-Borg’s Model TC4171 (COA Module) conforms to the requirements of the Federal Communica- tion Commission’s Rules and Regulations, Part 68, which governs the connection of circuitry to protect the telephone network. The user must be aware of the requirements pertaining to the installation and the operation of this protective device.
Page 3 Perform Initial System Installation and Checkout Summary: Install the Telecenter IV cabinets in an office environment so that free access is provided to the front and rear. Ensure proper grounding and power is provided. Verify the system oper- ates prior to proceeding with the subsequent installation and checkout procedures.
