    A backlight illuminates the display and the keypad. When you press any key or open the folder, the backlight turns on. It turns off when no keys are pressed within a given period of time, depending on your setting in the Back Light menu (Menu 9.1.5).

    Keep all SIM cards out of the reach of small children. 1. If necessary, turn off the phone by holding down the key until the power-off image displays.

    Entering Text When using your phone, you often need to enter text, such as when storing a name in Phonebook, creating your personal greeting or scheduling events on your calendar. You can enter alphanumeric characters by using your phone’s keypad.

    Using T9 Mode T9 is a predictive text input mode that allows you to key in any character using single keystrokes. This text input mode is based on a built-in dictionary. To enter a word in T9 mode: 1. When you are in T9 mode, start entering a word by pressing the once for each letter.

    You can make another call while you have a call in progress if your network supports this service. To place a call on hold, simply press the Hold soft key. You can reactivate the call whenever you want, by pressing the Unhold soft key.
