    Unplugging, pressing and holding the power button for 15 seconds should discharge residual power in the system board. Remove the battery from notebooks. Bonding Bonding is a method for connecting two or more grounding conductors to the same electrical potential. This is done through the use of a field service electrostatic discharge (ESD) kit.
  • Page 7 3. Press any key to continue. NOTE: The Service Mode procedure automatically skips this step if the Owner Tag of the system is not set up in advance by the manufacturer. 4. When the ready-to-proceed message appears on the screen, press any key to proceed. The system emits three short beeps and shuts down immediately.

    Once the system shuts down, you can perform the replacement procedures without disconnecting the battery cable from the system board. 5. To exit Service Mode after finishing replacement procedures, connect AC adapter and press the power button to power on the system.

    Steps 1. Using the alignment posts and rubber grommets, place the speakers in the slots on the palm-rest assembly. 2. In order to do so, technicians must also remove the two (M2x5) screws the secure the system fan to the system board.

NOTE: When you disconnect the coin-cell battery cable from the connecter on the system board, the CMOS setting is cleared.
