- Page 5 Getting Started Warnings Warnings Safe and proper use of the grill depends on proper installation, location and setup of your equipment. Any alterations made to this piece of equipment will void the product’s warranty. Before installation, check the serial number of your grill and only use if the type of fuel supply you have will be compatible with the Primate.

Before use of your grill, please review the information in this manual thoroughly. You’ll find a significant amount of information needed to maximize your safety, as well as the perfor- mance and lifetime of your equipment.
- Page 7 The replacement hose assembly shall be specified by the manufacturer. • The pressure regulator and hose assembly supplied with the Primate Griddle/Grill must be used. Replacement pressure regulators and hose assemblies must be those specified by Grilla Grills. AVERTISSEMENT...
- Page 8 Gas Requirments Each appliance is set and tested at the factory for the type of gas supply to be used. Identify the type of gas, either natural gas or LP gas, and make sure that the marking on the rating/serial plate matches the gas being supplied to the griddle.
- Page 9 LP Gas Hook-up Install the factory-supplied hose and regulator assembly as shown. Connect the 3/8” flare end of the hose to the manifold coupling using a ¾” open wrench. Do not apply pipe sealant to the 3/8” flare con- nection. Connect the regulator to the LP cylinder hand tighten it, do not use a wrench. Check for leaks using soapy water solution.

- Page 11 Natural Gas Installation cont. A typical natural gas installation is shown below. Make sure that the factory-supplied regulator is used and installed with the arrow mark on the regulator pointing towards the Primate Griddle/ Grill. Use only pipe sealants that are approved for use with natural and LP gases. An installer-sup- plied gas shutoff valve must be installed in an accessible location.
- Page 12 Gas Regulator Check/Conversion If the Grilla Grills Primate Griddle/Grill is factory built for natural gas, the regulator supplied is set for 4” water column. The regulator is convertible to 11 in wc (2.49 kPa) for system LP application. Do not use with a 20-lb LP cylinder.

- Page 15 Installation cont. Install both left & right hand side panels with supplied screws from bag #1. Position & secure the rear cross brace to the two side panels. Use screws from bag #1. Once complete now fasten the back panel to the side panels. Use screws from bag #1.
- Page 16 Installation cont. Next take the smaller vertical shelf and mount to the base of the cart upright. After take the larger shelf piece and mount to the cart horizontally. Use supplied screws from bag #1. Take the front cross brace and mount it to the side panels.
- Page 17 Installation cont. Press down and insert into cross brace. Take one cabinet door and place it with the solid pin downward at an angle. You will then have to depress the pin on each of doors for them to seat into the front cross brace properly.
- Page 18 Installation cont. Now that the lower part of the cart is complete next take the upper unit and place on top of the cart base. Secure with mounting screws in bag #2. To mount the grease catch locate Next take the left hand upper shelf and and mount the grease catch install using screws from bag #2.

The flame tamers supplied and pictured below are not to be used with the griddle, only the cooking grates. Vice versa the cooking grates are required to have flame tamers on to ensure proper function.
