ISD 260 and ISD 280 systems

5.2.1

Installation sequence

• Configure the data interface
• Connect the data and function interfaces
• Connect the power supply to the system

Transmission frequencies

Parallel operation
If two ISD 260 or ISD 280 systems are to be operated simultaneously in close proximity of
each other, they must be mounted in such a way that the units with frequency 1 and 2 are
diagonally opposite one another (Fig 5-10).

Selecting the device types for fixed/mobile station and bus operation
If the system is used in a variable link, we recommend that the ISD 260/280-1112 be
mounted at the fixed station (on the bus line) and the ISD 260/280-1111 at the
opposite mobile station.
5.2.3

Configuring the data interface

Interface type
The ISD 260 and ISD 280 systems are equipped with one RS 422/485 interface per
unit which can be operated in 2 or 4-wire technology and in the Profibus (DP) and
Interbus-S.
Damage to the interface module!
The interface modules in the ISD 260/280 may be damaged if the DIL switching blocks
S 1 and S 2 are set incorrectly for the required configuration.
Ø Configure the data interface correctly in accordance with Fig. 5-11 and Table 5-8.
Ø Check the wiring before switching on the unit.
