General This guide describes the console controls responsible for Aurora HDR functions. Basic HDR adjustments CONTROL FUNCTION Temperature Makes the image warmer or cooler, essentially adding cyan or yellow to change the color temperature. Tint Adjusts the amount of green and magenta in the image, which is useful for removing color casts.
Highlights Adjusts the brightness of the brightest areas in the image. Blacks Sets the black point in the histogram and adjusts black tones in the image. Whites Sets the white point in the histogram and adjusts white tones in the image. Clarity Adjusts the amount of HDR enhancement.
Crop, Brush, and Masking Tools Crop Mode CONTROL FUNCTION Control Dial (CD) Activates the Crop/Rotation tool; a second press applies changes. Control Dial (CD) + Fn Resets the crop angle (only the angle). Adjusts crop size (if pressed, D1 resets only the crop size, not the aspect ratio).
CONTROL FUNCTION Rotating CD Increases/decreases the tool tip size. Brush mode Rotating CD + Fn Increases/decreases the opacity of the Fill tool. Activates the Brush tool/ switches the Brush tool to Paint mode. FN + L1 Switches from Brush to Erase mode. Pressing CD Applies changes.
Pressing CD Applies changes. Rotating CD + Fn Mask feather. Activates the Radial mask. Rotates the mask. Adjusts the mask height. FN + D2 Adjusts the mask width. Arrows Moves the mask. Gradient Mode CONTROL FUNCTION Rotating CD Rotates the gradient. Activates the gradient mask.
HSL — Color channel adjustment CONTROL FUNCTION Sets HSL scrolls to adjust the hue of the selected color. Sets HSL scrolls to adjust the saturation of the selected color. Sets HSL scrolls to adjust the luminance of the selected color. HSL scrolls Adjust colors.
Presets CONTROL FUNCTION P1–P8 Selects from the first eight available presets. FN + P1–P8 Selects from the first six preset categories plus Favorites and User Presets. Rotating CD Sets the strength of the selected preset. Copyright (c) 2018 Skylum Software. All rights reserved.
Other controls and functions CONTROL FUNCTION Undo Jumps to the previous state in the workflow, which can be either a state in the image editing history or a user movement within the app. Redo Jumps to the next state in the workflow, which can be either a state in the image editing history or a user movement within the app.
