  • Page 5 step 1 Install self-erecting jacking cylinders (16) in four locations on carbody (1).
  • Page 6 step 2 Position MAX-ER™ (2) behind carbody (1). Secure with 2 pins.
  • Page 7 step 3 Attach lower boom butt with 40’ insert (3) to carbody (1) using two bolts and nuts. Connect hydraulic lines.
  • Page 8 step 4 With boom laying down, connect 20’ and 40’ boom inserts (4) to lower boom butt with 40’ insert (3) using 4 screws. step 5 Connect lower boom point (5) to 20’ and 40’ boom inserts (4) using 4 screws. Connect straps from main strut to lower boom butt (3).
  • Page 9 step 6 Stack carbody, machine, and MAX-ER™ counterweights (11, 12, 13).
  • Page 10 step 7 Connect lower mast butt, 20’ and 40’ mast insert (7) to carbody (1) with rod and nut. Prop mast using mast stops. Connect hydraulic lines. Attach vision operator’s cab (14) using hinge pin.
  • Page 11 step 8 Connect mast top (8) to lower mast butt, 20’ and 40’ inserts (7) using 4 screws. Connect basic straps (inside) from mast top to rear of carbody (1). Connect MAX-ER™ straps (outside) to MAX-ER™ (2).
  • Page 12 step 9 Recommendation: Prop Boom at roughly 80 ˚ against a firm object for subsequent steps. Attach luffing jib with straps (6) to lower boom point (5) using rod and nut. Connect straps to luffing strut (5).
  • Page 13 boom hoist reeving Upon completion of reeving, run wire rope over sheave at rear of mast top. Wind to boom hoist drum (drum #4 on page 19).
  • Page 14 luffing hoist reeving Upon completion of reeving, run wire rope behind sheave in lower boom point, down to 2 sheaves at top of 40’ insert in lower boom to luffing jib drum (drum #6 on page 19).
  • Page 15 load line reeving Upon completion of reeving, run wire rope over sheave at top of luffing jib, over 2 sheaves in main and luffing struts. Continue over the top sheave on lower boom butt, directly into main load drum. (drum #1 on page 19).
  • Page 16 whip line reeving From upper boom point (extreme top sheave on luffing jib), run wire rope over 2nd sheave in luffing jib to second pair of sheaves in struts. Continue down to upper and lower sheaves in lower mast butt to whip hoist drum (drum #3 on page 19).
