To unlock the control lock on a Whirlpool oven with part number 465, press and hold the Control Lock keypad for 5 seconds.

My oven won't light. When I turn it on you can hear the ignitor clicking, but it won't light. Same with the broiler. All the top burners work fine.

If your Whirlpool oven ignitor clicks but the oven won’t light, it may be due to one or more of the following reasons:

1. High Ignitor Resistance: If the ignitor has high resistance, it won’t allow enough current (2.5 to 3.6 amps) to flow through the bimetal coil. This prevents the bimetal arm from heating and opening the gas safety valve.

2. Low Current Flow: If the ignitor is not fully heated, the current remains low. This keeps the gas valve closed, so gas does not reach the burner.

3. Defective Ignitor or Bimetal Coil: A faulty ignitor or bimetal coil can prevent proper heating and current flow, stopping the gas valve from opening.

4. Gas Valve Issue: If the gas safety valve does not open even when the bimetal arm is heated, the gas cannot reach the burner.

In summary, the most likely cause is that the ignitor is not producing enough heat or current to open the gas valve.
