2.0 OPERATION

1. After opening the box, place the machine on a flat surface.
2. Plug the power adapter into the power socket (AC 110-240V) and connect it to the machine (6).
3. Press the [On/Off-Clear] key (1) for approximately 2 seconds to power On the machine. The battery power icon
(15) will display the battery status (battery sold seperately). See chapter 2.1 for details
Note: after Power On the machine will perform a self-test. If the machine has found a problem during the self-test,
it will display an error code on the screen (P01 - P10).
See chapter 2.5 to solve the problem.
4. The device is now ready to check banknotes.
5. Banknotes can be exited from the front (4) or the rear (5), according to the users preferences. Select the
banknote exit direction by pressing the [Report & Dir] key (2) for 2 seconds. The indicator light
of the exit direction (8) will light up for 3 seconds.
6. Set the correct currency. Press the [Mode/Cur] key (3) for 3 seconds to change the currency
(155 = EUR/GBP/CHF & 165 = EUR/GBP/USD/CHF/PLN/HUF/DKK/SEK/NOK).
The currency indicator (10) will show the active currency detection in the display.
7. Insert the banknote to be analysed into the banknote feed entrance (4).
155 = Banknotes can be inserted in all directions (except CHF notes, see image 3 for correct insert
direction).
165 = All banknotes should be aligned with the right hand side of the entrance when inserting.
EURO & GBP banknotes can be inserted in all directions.
USD/CHF/PLN/HUF/DKK/SEK/NOK can only be inserted in 1 direction.

In the box are 3 stickers included.
These stickers can be pasted on either the Safescan 155 (image 3) or the Safescan 165 (image 4/5) as
instruction for the correct insertion of currencies.
