VARIOUS RECORDING SETTINGS
Long recording
(pages 42 - 43)
2 times or 4 times long stereo recording is possible.
In the monaural mode, you can make a recording twice as
long as in the stereo mode (SP).
1. Press the REC button.
2. Select the recording mode by press the MODE button.
For an 80 minute MiniDisc:

Creating track numbers automatically

You can select the numbering method for analog record-
ing from audio equipment or a microphone.

While recording, press the REC button at the point
where you wish to create a track number. The track num-
ber increases by one.

About the TOC (Table of Contents)
After recording or editing, TOC Indicator is displayed.
While recording, TOC Indicator appears on the display.
While TOC Indicator is displayed, you cannot eject the
MiniDisc. Eject it after turning off the power.

PLAYBACK
Listen to the sound through headphones, or place the unit
on the battery charge stand to use connected speakers.
1. Insert a MiniDisc.
2. When listening through headphones:
Plug in the remote control and headphones.
Make sure the direction and insert the plug fully.
When listening through stereo components:
Connect stereo components to the AUDIO OUT termi-
nal on the battery charge stand and place the unit on it.
When listening through speakers with built-in amplifier:
(1) Connect speakers with built-in amplifier to the SP
OUT terminal on the battery charge stand and place
the unit on it.
(2) Set the audio output selector switch to "MD".
3. Start playback by pressing the
When you insert a playback-only MiniDisc or a MiniDisc
which is protected against accidental erasure, playback
will begin automatically.
4. Press the – or + button to adjust the volume (0 - 30).
