5016 Dog & Cat TURBO Congratulations on the purchase of your new HOOVER vacuum cleaner. There are many useful features built into your cleaner and we recommend that you carefully read this instruction manual so that you may take best advantage of them.
Before You Begin This cleaner must be operated in accordance with these instructions and used only for domestic household cleaning to remove DRY dirt and dust from household carpets, flooring, walls and fabrics. This cleaner is not fit to be used as an industrial cleaner hence will void the manufacturer’s warranty if used inappropriately.
Safety Precautions & Warnings IMPORTANT! Always switch off the cleaner and remove the plug from the electricity power supply before cleaning your appliance, when not in use or attempting any maintenance task. The cleaner must only be connected to an AC power supply at the voltage shown on the rating label.

Instructions for Use (continued) Extend or reduce the length of the telescopic tube by moving the slider. Push the telescopic tube into the desired floor tool/accessory until it fits into place. To remove, just separate.

Instructions for Use Before using appliance, unwind a sufficient length of cable and insert the plug into the power socket. A yellow mark on the power cable shows the ideal cable length. Don’t expend the cable beyond the red mark. Press the ON/OFF button to switch the appliance on.
Instructions for Use (continued) Turbo Brush The use of a turbo brush is recommended for the optimal cleaning of carpets. Safety Precautions Keep hair, hands and feet away from rotating brush while the turbo brush is running. Remember the turbo brush will operate whenever it is connected to a running vacuum.

Depress the buttons on both sides of the turbo brush, the plastic cover will release. Use scissors to remove any hair or debris that may be tangled in the roller brush. Replace the clear cover and click back into place. The turbo brush is now ready to use.
Maintenance WARNING! Ensure the cleaner is not connected to the mains powers supply when performing any maintenance duties. For reasons of hygiene and in order to achieve maximum suction, the dust container should be emptied and the filter cleaned after every operation or when the maximum level indicator is reached.

Cleaning & Changing Filters The HEPA filter should be replaced at least twice a year based on normal use. Do not use a washing machine to clean the filter. Do not use a hair dryer to dry the filter. After emptying the dust container rotate the HEPA bracket until it is unlocked.
Maintenance (continued) General Maintenance Always make sure the appliance is unplugged before performing maintenance work of any kind. At the end of its working life, the product must not be disposed of as urban waste. It must be taken to a special local authority differentiated waste collection centre or to a dealer providing this service. Disposing of a household appliance separately avoids possible negative consequences for the environment and health deriving from inappropriate disposal and enables the constituent material to be recovered to obtain significant saving in energy and resources.
