Cleaning glass panes
At a collector angle of 15° and steeper, glass panes are generally self-
cleaning.
▶ In the case of more stubborn contamination: clean the glass panes
with water. Never use acetone or glass cleaner.
Cleaning the vents
Moisture created during the night (condensation) can escape from the
collector through the vents [1] located at each corner of the collector.
Environmental influences can cause these vents to become blocked.
▶ Should the collector still be misty after 4 hours of intensive solar
radiation, clean the vents [1] with a thin nail, for example.

Checking the pressure relief valves
▶ Manually open the pressure relief valves for a brief time during each
inspection.

Electrically checking the magnesium anode on the storage tank
The anode tester is available as an accessory.
Follow the operating instructions for the anode tester.
Insulated installation of the magnesium anode is a prerequisite for using
an anode tester to measure the protection current.
The protection current can be measured only with a filled DHW cylinder.
Ensure proper contact of the connecting terminals. Connect terminals
only to shiny metal surfaces.
▶ Remove the storage tank cover.

▶ Release the ground wire (contact cable between the anode and DHW
cylinder) at one of the two connection points.
▶ Attach the red cable to the anode and the black cable to the DHW
cylinder.
▶ If the ground wire has a plug: Attach red cable to the threads of the
magnesium anode.
▶ Remove the ground wire for the measuring procedure.
▶ After every test, reconnect the ground wire properly.
If the anode current is < 0.3 mA:
▶ Replace the magnesium anode.
