When the temperature light and paddle warning light come on for the Cocoon Cooltech medical device, it indicates a temperature issue with one of the applicators. The device should not be used in this condition. It is recommended to discontinue working with the device and contact the SAT (Service and Technical Support) if the error repeats three times.

  • Page 13 General considerations for cleaning and maintenance: For safety reasons, before cleaning the equipment, it is recommended to disconnect the power cord from power socket. For methacrylate surfaces, pay great attention in the use of cleaning products. If this material comes in contact with substances such as alcohol, solvents, ammonia or other aggressive products (thinners, acetone ...), it reacts forming "cracks", which are not visible immediately but in the next days.
  • Page 14 It is recommended to clean and sanitize the applicators of the equipment after each treatment. To do this, remove the product residues (gel) deposited in the applicator, clean and disinfect the applicator before using again. Do not use products containing alcohol. For outside cleaning of the casing, dry thoroughly using synthetic fabrics before starting a new treatment.

During the cleaning process, it is recommended to keep the applicator on higher position so that the liquid injected with the cleaning tool supplied with the equipment, not return. To ensure that the programming process in the section "EEPROM" has gone correctly, check if appears at the bottom of the screen the following text: These are the alarms that appear during a treatment as animated image on the screen indicating the type of fault.
  • Page 23 3.1.1 - Low coolant level This image appears when the coolant level in the tank is low. The treatment process will stop otherwise could damage the peltiers inside the applicators. To solve the problem, proceed with filling the cooling system with antifreeze of 10-20%, follow the process explained in installation and maintenance section.
  • Page 24 This alarm indicates excess pressure or too low value in the hydraulic circuit for proper operation. This error normally `is related to the hydraulic circuit pump and appears during a treatment process. If the unit beeps intermittently before the alert appears, it indicates that there is excess pressure in the circuit due to possible obstruction of one of the applicators.
  • Page 25 Option 2 - Older or equal to xx.13 versions: On the last diagram both horizontal lines are the thresholds of the high pressure alarm when 2 connected applicators (red color value 152) and the value for 1 connected applicator (green color value 172).
  • Page 26 Follow the procedure and test the hand pieces separately to find out which one has the obstruction. Compare the pressure value and if one of them has a value, much higher than the other, replace the applicator. If both have high values, proceed to check the equipment with other hand pieces for a possible obstruction in the equipment hydraulic circuit.
  • Page 27 3.1.4 - High or very low equipment temperature warning When this image appears, it is a warning only and not for treatment. Clicking on it, will disappear and the normally treatment can be continued. When the high temperature warning appears, it indicates that the equipment is not working in the optimum conditions to reach the set temperatures of the applicators.
  • Page 28 3.1.5 - Vacuum circuit cleaning reminder Vacuum circuit cleaning warning, appears every 100 treatments and is a reminder only. If turn on the machine or return to home screen 100 times, this reminder will reappear. The equipment does not have any device to know that the cleaning has been carried out, so it is not recommended to reset the warning only.

  • Page 31 3 : Temperature difference higher than 5°C between metal plates of applicator 1 4 : Temperature value is more than 3°C lower than setpoint 5 : Temperature difference higher than 5°C between metal plates of applicator 2 The cause for errors 1, 2 and 4, most probably is in the applicator`s head. To check the temperatures of the applicators in real time it is necessary to start a treatment.
  • Page 32 3.1.8 - Applicator programmed vacuum not reached The suction error appears when the equipment has not been able to reach the set vacuum for a minute and a half (90s) and stops the treatment. This type of error is mostly related to the placing of the applicator on the body.
  • Page 33 If the tool is not available there are 2 other options, one is to use a balloon to simulate the body and the other is to block with the finger the suction duct of the hand piece. Using the balloon method we would get the same results as with the silicone pad. So if the equipment reaches the set vacuum the fault is the placing on the body.
  • Page 34 Disconnect pipes from the tank Connect the 2 tubes with the filter in the center Reconnect the “bridge” to the machine Important: When connecting the bridge to the equipment, make sure that the tubes are not bent, otherwise the suction in the hand piece would be blocked. In case both deposit tanks are in good condition and the problem persists proceed to the next check.
  • Page 35 Electrovalves circuit identification Block this tube To the pump input are connected 2 tubes, one goes to and the other one to and 4. Make the test, bending the tube that goes towards EV 3 as shown in the image. If after blocking the tube the vacuum loss persists, proceed replacing the CPU, since possibly the vacuum sensor is faulty.

  • Page 45 3.2.6 - Set temperature not reached For this type of fault several factors could cause it. Cooltech equipment uses Peltier elements to generate the cold. Applying the proper voltage and polarity, one side of the element gets cold, but the other one warm.

  • Page 55 3.2.10 - Suction losses If in case that the equipment reaches the programmed vacuum, but does not maintain it, most probably is caused by an air leaks. In order to detect it follow the procedure step by step. It will be necessary to block the lines separating it in different sections, by bending or pinching the hoses.
