1. SAFETY
1.1.
GENERAL SAFETY
Disconnect the battery from the drill unit before changing accessories, servicing or performing any maintenance.

Maintain the drill and battery in good condition. Check moving parts alignment on a regular basis.

Replace or repair damaged parts. Use an authorised service agent and recommended parts only. Unauthorised parts may be

dangerous and will invalidate the warranty.
Ensure the drill is switched off before installing the battery.

Keep the drill battery and charger clean for best and safest performance.
9
Remove ill fitting clothing. Remove ties, watches, rings and other loose jewellery and contain long hair.
9
Evaluate your working area before using the drill e.g. ceiling, floors and enclosures may contain electrical items or water piping.
9
Ensure battery is correctly inserted into the drill handle and latched in place before attempting to switch on.
9
Secure loose workpieces with a clamp, vice or other adequate holding device.
9
Avoid unintentional starting.
9
Wear approved safety eye protection (standard spectacles are not adequate).
9
Maintain correct balance and footing. Ensure the floor is not slippery and wear non-skid shoes.
9
Be aware that this drill does not need to be plugged into the mains power.
9
Keep children and unauthorised persons away from the working area.
9
DO NOT use the drill where there are flammable liquids, solids or gases, such as paint solvents, etc.

DO NOT allow children to operate the drill.

DO NOT operate the drill if any parts are missing as this may cause failure or possible personal injury.

DO NOT hold unsecured workpiece in your hand.

DO NOT carry the drill with your finger on the power trigger.
8
DO NOT use the drill for a task it is not designed to perform.

DO NOT operate the drill when you are tired or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or intoxicating medication.

DO NOT get the drill, battery or charger wet or use in damp or wet locations.

Keep the drill, battery and charger in a safe, dry, childproof area where the temperature will not exceed 104°F (40°C).

1.2.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
REGARDING DIRECT MAINS POWER USE WITH THE CHARGING BASE AND PLUG ONLY.
WARNING! It is the user's responsibility to check the following:
1.2.1.
Check all electrical equipment and appliances to ensure that they are safe before using. Inspect power supply leads, plugs and all
electrical connections for wear and damage. Sealey recommend that an RCD (Residual Current Device) is used with all electrical
products. You may obtain an RCD by contacting your local Sealey dealer.
1.2.2.
If the lamp is used in the course of business duties, it must be maintained in a safe condition and routinely PAT (Portable Appliance
Test) tested.
1.2.2.1. Electrical safety information. It is important that the following information is read and understood.
1.2.2.2. Ensure that the insulation on all cables and on the appliance is safe before connecting it to the power supply.
1.2.2.3. Regularly inspect power supply cables and plugs for wear or damage and check all connections to ensure that they are secure.
1.2.2.4. Important: Ensure that the voltage rating on the appliance suits the power supply to be used and that the plug is fitted with the correct
fuse - see fuse rating in these instructions.
DO NOT pull or carry the appliance by the power cable.

DO NOT pull the plug from the socket by the cable. Remove the plug from the socket by maintaining a firm grip on the plug.

DO NOT use worn or damaged cables, plugs or connectors. Ensure that any faulty item is repaired or replaced immediately by a

qualified electrician.

    The torque setting "1" is minimum and "18" is maximum. A combination of variable speed and torque gives maximum drilling efficiency. (Not available on hammer drill setting which has a fixed torque rating) 4.7 For task settings Drill or Hammer drill, see (Fig.4) icons. On completion of tasks, remove bit from drill, clean all items and store in carry case.
