Pump Adjustment Instructions Pump Maintenance should only be performed with engine off and battery cables disconnected. 1. Loosen the bolts with the jam nuts so they are out of the way. 2. Tighten the bolts with the flat washer until the suction cover touches the impeller. If the cover bottoms out before touching the impeller‐ one or both pieces may need replaced and should be inspected. 3. Tighten the bolts with the jam nut by hand until the touch the housing. 4. Loosen the bolts with the flat washer a couple of turns. 5. Loosen the bolts with the jam nut 1‐1/2 turns. Lock the jam nuts down. 6. Tighten the bolts with the flat washers. Do not exceed 15 ft lbs and follow accepted torque procedures. 7. Turn the pump by hand through one full revolution checking to make sure it turns free. NACD Clutch Adjustment Clutch Maintenance should only be performed with engine off and battery cables disconnected. The clutch has a castle ring that is held in place with a retaining clip. To adjust, remove the retaining clip, being careful not to drop the clip into the housing. To Tighten‐Turn the castle ring counter clockwise a few teeth and use the handle to test the correct feel‐ continue adjusting until handle has a firm snap. Once adjusted reinstall the retaining clip. To loosen adjustment turn ring clockwise. *Note: Machines with air operated clutches will have to have the air cylinder disconnected to properly adjust the clutch.
