Information specific to other devices (e.g VisionTrack) can be found in the appropriate Installation and Service manuals. Because of the flexibility of the SL 9000 J system, which allows a great diversity of configurations, the installation instructions are generalised by nature.

The BITPAD and REMOTE ports (for various serial communication), the CONSOLE port (for terminal connection), and eight additional ports (1-4 for serial control, 5-8 unused) are brought out to 9-way ‘D’-type connectors.

    System Setup 4. System Setup On the following pages you will find interconnection diagrams for each category of cabling within the SL 9000 J System. The SL 9000 J is a powerful system, capable of being configured in a great variety of ways. The accompanying diagrams are therefore intended to suggest typical, rather than mandatory, interconnections, from which you can develop the optimum configuration for your intended installation.

    System Setup Power Connections AC Power must be connected to the Audio and Digital Raw DC units. These units are auto-sensing from 90-250 VAC. The Harting O/P Connectors on the rear panels carry the Raw DC to similar INPUT connectors on the Filter Unit. The OUTPUT connectors on the Filter Unit are connected to the Console by a similar, but longer, set of cables.

    System Setup Video and Sync The SL 9000 J and Visiontrack (option) each allows two video sources to be switched and displayed on a single RGB monitor in addition to the normal SL 9000 J or Visiontrack display. (See the Operator’s Manual for more information.) Note that the SL 9000 J will not operate without a composite video sync reference input.
