Witter DT143U Fitting Instructions

MATERIALS

A 1 Cross Bar
B 2 Side Bracket
C 2 Side Bracket
D 3 M12 x 35 x 1.75 Bolts, Lock Washers, Flat Washers (30mm OD.) and Witter Cage Nuts & Retainers
E 2 M12 x 35 x 1.75 Bolts, Lock Washers, Flat Washers (30mm OD.) and Witter Cage Nuts & Retainers
F 4 M12 x 35 x 1.75 Bolts, Lock Washers and Nuts
G 1 M12 x 35 x 1.75 Bolts, Lock Washers and Nuts
ZE 1 Retractable Electrical Plate
ZN 1 Neck Kit
Note: This tow bar must be used with either a Witter Tow ball (part number Z11) or Class A50-1 or A50-X tow ball, which
dimensionally conforms to A50-1 with a 'D' and 'S' value greater than or equal to that of the tow bar.

FITTING

1. Remove bumper (screws in wheel arches, plastic clips along bottom edge, )
2. Remove inner steel bumper beam.
3. Pre-assemble cage nuts (D & E) to each Side Arm (B & C)
4. Insert Side Arms (B & C) into each chassis rail and loosely attach using fasteners (D & E)
5. Assemble Cross Bar (A) to Side Arms (B & C) using fasteners (F)
6. Attach the chosen Neck Kit (ZN) and Electrical Bracket Kit (ZE) to Cross Bar (A) using separate instructions.
7. Fully tighten all fasteners
8. Cut bumper using the diagram below as a guide and re-fit bumper to vehicle.
Recommended torque settings: Grade 8.8 bolts: M8 - 24Nm, M10 - 52 Nm, M12 - 80 Nm, M14 - 130 Nm, M16 - 200
Nm Grade 10.9: M12 – 120Nm, M10 – 70Nm M8- 35Nm
