QuikRead iFOB Sampling Set

Tubes for dilution and filtration of faecal samples.
For use with QuikRead go iFOBT kit, Ref. 151051.
Sampling Instructions
Do not drink the liquid in the sampling tube.
Take care not to bend or break the tip of the tube.

Obtain a sample of faeces in a clean container or on clean collecting paper. Avoid
contact with the toilet water when you are collecting the sample. If there is visible
blood in the faeces sample or in case of diarrhea, do not collect a sample but wait for
the next bowel movement and collect a sample from that.

Unscrew the top of the sampling tube containing the sample collecting stick. Collect
the sample by poking the sample collecting stick (attached to the tube cap) in three
(3) different places on the faeces sample.

Insert the sample collecting stick back into the sampling tube and screw the cap on
firmly.

Write your name and the date on a separate label and attach the label to the sampling
tube.

Return the iFOB sampling tube to the laboratory or doctor as soon as possible after
sampling. Protect the sampling tube from breakage or leakage during transportation.

The sample in the sampling tube can be stored in a refrigerator (2...8°C) for up to
7 days or at room temperature (max. 25°C) for up to 5 days. Storage in refrigerator
is however preferred.
Consult the separate drawing containing patient instructions.
Storage
Store the sampling tubes at 2...25°C.
Warnings and precautions
● Do not use the sampling tubes after the expiry time marked on the label as yyyy-mm.
● The reagent contains 0.1% formaldehyde. May cause cancer (Carc. 1B,
H350) and may produce an allergic reaction (EUH208). Obtain special
instructions before use (P201). Wear protective gloves/protective clothing
(P280). IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of soap and water (P302+P352).
Dispose of contents according to national and local law (P501).
● Reagents contain < 0.1 % sodium azide, which is not considered a harmful
concentration. Sodium azide liberates toxic gas when in contact with acids.
Azides may react with metal plumbing, forming explosive compounds. Azide build-
up can be avoided by flushing with a large volume of water when disposing of the
reagents.
● All patient samples should be handled and disposed of as potentially
infectious material.
● When used in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice, good occupational hygiene
and the instructions for use, reagents supplied should not present a hazard to health.

Probenentnahme
Die Flüssigkeit im Röhrchen nicht trinken.
Das Röhrchen nicht biegen oder an der Spitze beschädigen.

Stuhlprobe in einem sauberen Behälter oder auf sauberem Papier auffangen. Bei der
Probeentnahme sollte der Kontakt mit Toilettenwasser vermieden werden. Befindet
sich sichtbares Blut im Stuhl oder liegt eine Diarrhö vor, nehmen Sie keine Probe und
warten Sie damit bis zum nächsten Stuhlgang.

Den oberen Teil des Probennahmesystems, der die Probennahmevorrichtung umfasst,
abschrauben. Zur Entnahme der Probe das an der Röhrchenkappe angebrachte
Stäbchen an drei (3) verschiedenen Stellen der Stuhlprobe eindrehen.

Das Probennahmestäbchen wieder in das Probennahmesystem einführen und die
Kappe fest zuschrauben.

Namen und Datum auf ein separates Etikett schreiben und dieses auf das
Proberöhrchen aufkleben.

Das Probenröhrchen nach der Probennahme schnellstmöglich an das Labor oder den
Arzt zurückgeben. Bitte sichern Sie das Röhrchen entsprechend, damit es während
des Transportes nicht beschädigt wird.

Die Probe im Probenröhrchen kann bis zu 7 Tage in einem Kühlschrank (2...8°C)
oder 5 Tage bei Zimmertemperatur (max. 25°C) aufbewahrt werden. Die Lagerung
im Kühlschrank wird jedoch empfohlen.
Separate Zeichnung mit Anweisungen für den Patienten beachten.
Lagerung
Die Probenröhrchen bei 2...25°C lagern.
Warn- und Entsorgungshinweise
● Probenröhrchen nach dem Verfallsdatum auf dem Etikett (JJJJ-MM) nicht mehr
verwenden.
● Die Reagenzien enthalten 0,1 % Formaldehyd. Kann Krebs erzeugen
(Karz. 1B, H350). Kann allergische Reaktionen hervorrufen (EUH208). Vor
Gebrauch besondere Anweisungen einholen (P201). Schutzhandschuhe/
Schutzkleidung tragen (P280). BEI BERÜHRUNG MIT DER HAUT:
Mit viel Wasser und Seife waschen (P302+P352). Inhalt entsprechend
nationalem und lokalem Recht der Entsorgung zuführen (P501).
● Die Reagenzien enthalten Natriumazid in Konzentrationen < 0,1 %, die nicht als
gesundheitsgefährdend eingestuft sind. Bei Kontakt mit Säuren setzt Natriumazid
toxische Gase frei. Azide können mit Metallrohren reagieren, indem sie explosive
Stoffe bilden. Die Bildung von Aziden kann vermieden werden, indem nach dem
Entsorgen der Reagenz mit großen Mengen Wasser gespült wird.
● Alle Patientenproben und gebrauchte Küvetten sollten vorsichtshalber wie infektiöses
Material behandelt und entsorgt werden.
● Wird der Test in Übereinstimmung mit der Good Laboratory Practice, unter guten
Hygienebedingungen und nach den Anweisungen dieser Bedienungsanleitung
verwendet, stellen die Reagenzien keine Gefahr für die Gesundheit dar.
