  • Page 6: Installing The I-Fan

    Install the I-fan and associated components as follows: Mount the I-fan and manual control (see page 3) Connect the I-fan and manual control (see page 7) Install the protective screen (optional) (see page 16) Test the I-fan (see page 17) Mount the I-fan in or on a (roof) structure with sufficient load-bearing capacity.
  • Page 7 Quick installation 35 - 80 Quick installation may only be done if the structure has exactly the same dimensions as the underside of the module and is sufficiently solid. Position the tube on the underside of the module. Take note that the openings through which the linking pins go are directly across from each other.
  • Page 8 Attach the wire/chain to the tube module and to the (roof) structure. Make sure the wires/chains cross each other. The wire/chain may not be fed directly through the tube module's hanging eye. Fancom recommends running steel hanging eyes through the tube module's hanging eyes and then attaching the wire or chain to this.

    Before connecting, turn off the power and turn it back on only after the entire installation is ready. The motor/thermal protection is already integrated in the I-fan. Due to a higher inrush current it is possible that the current protection will be activated during power up. The number of I-fans that can be connected to current protection depends on the type of protection.

  • Page 14 By default, the jumper settings are set to overrule the I/O-net controlled I-fan units via the I/O network (1-10V). To overrule the analog control I-fan units, the jumper settings must be changed to 0-10V / 10-0V. Do this as follows: Open the cover of the manual operation box.

  • Page 19: Install The Protective Screen (Optional)

    Placement of a protective screen is necessary if the I-fan: • is within reach of animals and/or people, and • is installed at heights less than 2.7 m above the floor. The blades of the I-fan may run backward due to external influences. To prevent the I-fan turning in the opposite direction, it is necessary to place a shutter.

    Air outlet side Hold the protective screen up to the I-fan and trace the three drill holes. Drill the three holes with a ø5mm bit. Place the protective screen on the I-fan and fix the protective screen with an M5 x 30 bolt. Check whether the I-fan has been connected correctly.

    Do not touch any of the I-fan moving parts. Fancom advises to leave the I-fan on for about 6 hours after installation, to let it run in.     Manually potentiometer control (optional) In order to operate the I-fan remotely and manually, a 10 kΩ potentiometer with a switch can be connected.   • Page 23: Maintenance

    The I-fan only needs specific maintenance on the venting plug. Fancom recommends that your installation technician inspects the complete climate installation, of which the I-fan is a component, every half-year. The venting plug allows air to escape freely from the motor, while no water gets inside. Check venting plug periodically to see if it’s secured tightly and clear of sand or debris that could block the venting.

  • Page 29 Installeer de I-fan en de bijbehorende onderdelen als volgt: Monteer de I-fan en de handbediening (zie pagina 3) Sluit de I-fan en de handbediening aan (zie pagina 7) Plaats het beschermrooster (optioneel) (zie pagina 16) Test de I-fan (zie pagina 17) Bevestig de I-fan aan een (dak)constructie met voldoende draagkracht.
  • Page 30 Snelle installatie 35-80 Snelmontage mag u alleen toepassen als de constructie exact dezelfde maatvoering heeft als de onderzijde van de module, en voldoende stevig is. Plaats de koker aan de onderzijde van de module. Let erop dat de openingen, waar de koppelpennen doorheen gaan, recht tegenover elkaar staan.
  • Page 31 Bevestig de staalkabel/ketting aan de kokermodule en aan de (dak)constructie. Zorg ervoor dat de kabels/kettingen elkaar kruisen. De kabel/ketting mag niet direct door het ophangoog van de kokermodule worden gevoerd. Fancom adviseert om stalen ophangogen door de ophangogen van de kokermodule te voeren en de kabel of ketting hieraan te bevestigen.

  • Page 33 Schakel voor het aansluiten de spanning uit en schakel deze pas in nadat volledige installatie gereed is. De motorbeveiliging/thermische beveiliging is reeds geïntegreerd in de I-fan. Door een hogere inschakelstroom kan de stroombeveiliging tijdens het opstarten geactiveerd worden. Het aantal I-Fans dat aangesloten kan worden aan de stroombeveiliging hangt af van het type beveiliging.

  • Page 37 Standaard zijn de jumpers ingesteld voor het overbruggen van digitaal gestuurde I-fan-units via het I/O-net (1–10 V). Wijzig de jumperinstellingen naar 0–10 V/10–0 V voor het overbruggen van analoog gestuurde I-fan- units. Dit doet u als volgt: Open de afdekkap van de handbedieningskast. Vervang de jumper met weerstand op de MCA-kaart door de standaard meegeleverde jumper.

  • Page 42 Het is nodig om een beschermrooster te plaatsen als de I-fan: • zich binnen bereik van mensen en/of dieren bevindt, en • een montagehoogte van minder dan 2,7 m boven de vloer heeft. Door externe invloeden kunnen de waaierbladen van de I-fan in tegengestelde richting gaan draaien. Om te voorkomen dat de I-fan in tegengestelde richting draait, is het noodzakelijk om een jaloezieafsluiter te plaatsen.

  • Page 46 De I-fan vereist enkel specifiek onderhoud van de ventilatieplug. Fancom adviseert om de complete klimaatinstallatie waarvan de I-fan onderdeel uitmaakt, ieder half jaar door uw installateur op een juiste werking te laten controleren. De ventilatieplug laat lucht van de motor ontsnappen zonder dat er water binnenkomt. Controleer regelmatig of de ventilatieplug nog goed vastzit en vrij is van zand of vuil dat de ventilatie kan blokkeren.
