Operation

BATTERY CHARGE INDICATORS (POWERED CARTS)

M38 cart power expansions are equipped with a battery gauge that displays the level
of battery charge. Powered carts without powered drawer expansions are equipped
with LED battery gauges. The RUI for powered carts equipped with powered drawer
expansions has an LCD battery gauge.
The RUI also indicates power system status:
• Normal
• Charge Mode
• Recovery
Caution:
Never allow battery charge level to drop bellow 20% (1/4), Failure to keep
the battery charge greater than 20% may damage the battery and render it unable
to recharge.

The cart may be unplugged and used on
battery power.
The cart should be plugged in to charge, but
may be used on battery power alone. The
audible alarm will sound but may be muted.
The cart must be plugged in. The cart may
shutdown for deep discharge recovery cycle
and should remain plugged in for 6-8 hours.
Powered components will not be available
during this period. The audible alarm will
continue to sound. When battery level drops
below 10% the alarm cannot be muted unless
the cart is plugged in.
The condition of the LEDs and audible alarm
for corresponding levels of battery charge
are listed in the table below
