Standard Model (BD 96 SL) The carrying assembly consists of an anatomically designed backplate of antistatic plastic with carrying slots for easy handling.

On the pressure reducer, there is a safety valve and the multi-channel line for connecting the combo pressure gauge.

    DESCRIPTION 2.2. Model with Quick-Fill Coupling (BD 96 SL-Q) Besides the standard unit fittings, this model also comes with a high pressure safety coupling (see Pos. 3 in Fig. 2).It is then possible to fill 300 bar compressed air cylinder(s) whilst the compressed air breathing apparatus is in use. Warning! In compressed air breathing apparatus with Quick-Fill couplings the use of 200 bar compressed air cylinders is not permitted.

The compressed air breathing apparatus may only be put into use in a fully maintained and tested condition. If malfunctions or defects are noticed prior to use, do not use the compressed air breathing apparatus under any circumstances.

    USING THE COMPRESSED AIR BREATHING APPARATUS Attention! Tighten cylinder retaining strap only when clamping lever is in clamped position, otherwise, it can not be closed. Hinge tension clamp down until it catches. (10) Fasten end of the cylinder retaining strap onto Velcro strip. (11) Briefly open cylinder valve and check for escaping air, retighten if necessary.

    USING THE COMPRESSED AIR BREATHING APPARATUS With right-angled T-piece, align the compressed air cylinders by hinging the pressure reducer and pulling the cylinders together (see Instruction Manual for T-pieces). Tighten all three high pressure connection handwheels. (10) Briefly open cylinder valves and check for escaping air, retighten if necessary.

Donning the Face piece (Full Face Mask) Don full face mask and check face piece-to-face fit (palm test) (see Instruction Manual of Full face mask) Open cylinder valve(s) fully. Warning! When using two compressed air cylinders, always open the valves of both cylinders.

Hinge up tension clamp at cylinder strap and loosen the strap. Unscrew cylinder valve(s) from pressure reducer and/or T-piece.

    Always use original parts from MSA. Repairs and maintenance must be carried out only by authorised service centres or by MSA. Changes to devices or components are not permitted and could result in loss of approved status.

    MAINTENANCE AND CARE OF THE SCBA 4.3. Cleaning Pre-cleaning Open cylinder valve(s) of the mounted compressed air cylinder(s). Remove rough dirt from compressed air breathing apparatus with water hose. Here, we recommend using a mild detergent. Close cylinder valve(s), release air from apparatus using the lung governed demand valve.

    MAINTENANCE AND CARE OF THE SCBA Do not remove the U-clip and hoses after removal of the pressure reducer. (8) Clean carrying plate and cylinder strap at max. 60°C. Clean harness in a suitable washing machine at max. 60°C. (10) Clean lines, pressure reducer and pressure gauge by hand. Attention! Do not submerge pressure reducer into water.

    MAINTENANCE AND CARE OF THE SCBA 4.7. Overhaul The overhaul of the pressure reducer may only be performed by MSA or an authorised service centre. Attention! Pressure reducers are completed with a lead seal. Where the lead seal is missing or damaged, it can not be guaranteed that they are ready for use or that they correspond to the approval status.

    SICHERHEITSVORSCHRIFTEN Sicherheitsvorschriften 1.1. Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung Das MSA AUER BD96 SL – im weiteren Dokument als Pressluftatmer bezeichnet – ist ein von der Umgebungsatmosphäre unabhängig wirkendes Atemschutzgerät. Die Atemluft wird dem Benutzer aus einer (mehreren) Druckluftflasche(n) über einen Druckminderer, eine atemgesteuerte Dosiereinrichtung (siehe Gebrauchs- anleitung Lungenautomat) und einen Atemanschluss (siehe Gebrauchsanleitung Atemanschluss) zugeführt.

Ausführung mit Quick-Fill-Anschluss (BD 96 SL-Q) Zusätzlich zur Ausstattung des Standardgeräts verfügt diese Ausführung über eine Hochdruck-Sicherheitskupplung (siehe Pos. 3 in Bild 2). Dadurch ist es möglich, die 300 bar Druckluft-Flasche(n) ohne Ablegen des Pressluftatmers zu befüllen. Warnung! Bei Pressluftatmern mit Quick-Fill-Kupplung ist es nicht zulässig, 200 bar Druckluft-Flaschen zu verwenden.

    BEDIENUNG DES PRESSLUFTATMERS Bedienung des Pressluftatmers Warnung! Der Pressluftatmer darf nur in geprüftem und gewartetem Zustand zum Einsatz kommen. Sollten Sie vor dem Einsatz Fehlfunktionen oder Beschädigungen erkennen, dürfen Sie den Pressluftatmer auf keinen Fall verwenden. Lassen Sie das Gerät von einer autorisierten Fachwerkstatt prüfen und reparieren.

(9) Alle drei Handräder der Hochdruckverschraubung fest anziehen. (10) Flaschenventile kurz öffnen und prüfen, ob an den Verschraubungen Luft abströmt, ggf.

Nur so gewährleisten Sie, dass beide Flaschen gleichmäßig entleert werden.

MSA AUER haftet ausschließlich für die von MSA AUER selbst durchgeführten Wartungs- und Reparaturarbeiten. Benutzen Sie keine organischen Lösungsmittel wie Alkohol, Spiritus, Benzin etc.

    WARTUNG UND PFLEGE DES PRESSLUFTATMERS 4.3. Reinigung Vorreinigung (1) Flaschenventil(e) der montierten Druckluft-Flasche(n) öffnen. (2) Pressluftatmer mit Wasserschlauch von grobem Schmutz reinigen. Dabei empfehlen wir die Anwendung eines milden Reinigungsmittels. (3) Flaschenventil(e) schließen, Gerät über den Lungenautomaten entlüften. Reinigung bei leichter Verschmutzung (1) Druckluft-Flasche(n) entfernen (siehe 3.10).

(9) Bänderung bei max. 60°C in geeigneter Waschmaschine reinigen. (10) Schläuche, Druckminderer und Manometer mit der Hand reinigen. Achtung! Druckminderer nicht in Wasser tauchen.

    WARTUNG UND PFLEGE DES PRESSLUFTATMERS 4.7. Grundüberholung Grundüberholungen am Druckminderer dürfen nur von MSA AUER oder einer von MSA AUER autorisierten Person durchgeführt werden. Achtung! Druckminderer sind mit einer Plombe versehen. Bei Geräten, deren Plombe fehlt oder beschädigt ist, ist nicht sichergestellt, dass sie einsatzbereit sind bzw.
