where is the cassette to load the paper in

I have a Canon Pixma TR4500 printer. It needs the black ink cartridge replaced. It came with a cartridge #243. Can It be replaced with a cartridge # 275? Are they compatible in my machine? I happen to have one already and would like to use it and save a 50 mile round trip to get a new 243.
Trying to print and getting message communicating with printer and it never seems to communicate
