FAQ
Remember, to receive a clear satellite reception and picture, the dish must have the correct vertical (elevation)
and horizontal (azimuth) alignment.
1. Can I use my Remora 40 on a wet surface?
Yes, water will not affect the suction strength of the Remora 40. However, the surface should be clear of dirt
and debris. Always check the pads are secure during set up.
2. How should I store my Remora 40?
We always recommend that the system is stored in the bag included. The system has been designed for outdoor
use, however when not in use always store away from sunlight as this may impact the product lifespan.
3. Will my satellite system work when pointing through trees and buildings?
Satellite, unlike TV signals, will not work through objects. The satellite dish must have a clear line of sight to the
satellite in the sky.
4. I have noticed water inside my system, is this a problem?
The Remora 40 has been designed for outdoor use. Therefore, it has been designed for water to pass through
the unit and exit easily. The system will dry out very quickly.
5. I am using my system far away from my TV, how do I know when I have located the satellite?
You can purchase a Sat Finder (B2031) designed for use in line between the LNB and satellite receiver. This will
alert the user when the satellite is located, without the need to see the TV. Alternatively, most receivers have a
built in satellite finder. This will show signal strength when the satellite has been located.
6. My dish is scratched, will my system still work?
Due to the nature of using a plastic dish with a metallic coating, scratching is possible. However, this is
just cosmetic and will not affect the performance of your system.
7. I can't get a TV picture, what should I check?
1. Ensure all wiring connections are connected as per page 13.
2. Ensure system is installed on a vertical surface with the system sitting upright in orientation.
3. Ensure LNB Skew and elevation is set to the correct angle for your location.
4. Ensure your are pointing at the South sky and that you have no line of sight obstructions (reference page 10).
5. If you are still having problems please contact Maxview on 01553 811000 to discuss with our support team.
8. Why do I have to check my Remora 40 suction mounts are secure after 24hrs?
Every installation is variable and we have no control on the surface the Remora 40 is being applied to or how
the user secures the Mounts. These are both important factors that can have an effect on the suction mount
performance. Therefore for product safety reasons these are important guidelines that the user must adhere to.
Product tests have shown longer Suction Mount periods in test conditions.
