Use this input only for audio devices with a volume controllable optical output (such as
Apple Airport Express, Google Chromecast Audio, Sonos Connect, etc.). The optical
cables are already part of the delivery.
Of course the almando Multiplay Surround Switch can also play PCM stereo signals
from video devices via SPDIF (e.g. Bluray player, various televisions, AV receivers,
Apple TV) - however, these sources cannot be volume controlled with the remote
control of the device itself. The volume control would then always have to be done with
the Almando App, which is of course particularly convenient. In the setup menu of the
connected device, the sound output must be set to PCM.
5.1 BANG & OLUFSEN – POWERLINK (3 x RJ45)
To connect Bang & Olufsen TVs, three RJ45 Powerlink sockets are available, one for
the front speakers, one for the rear speakers and one for the center(R) / subwoofer(L).
For newer TVs with RJ45 sockets you can use ordinary RJ45 patch cables (CAT7).
For older TVs you need adapter cables (RJ45 <-> Powerlink).
The audio configuration has to be done in the setup menu of the TV!
5.1 LOEWE – DIGITAL AUDIOLINK (1 x RJ45)
There is an RJ45 socket for connecting Loewe televisions with integrated DAL (Digital
Audio Link) to the Digital Audio Link output of the TV. The RJ45 patch cable (CAT7)
required for this is already included in the Multiplay Surround Switch package.
The audio configuration has to be done in the setup menu of the TV!
Older Loewe televisions with analog audio link output (SUB-HD 26-pin) can also be
connected - but to the three RJ45 power link sockets, which are normally intended for
connecting B&O televisions. This requires special adapter cables from Audiolink <->
Cinch <-> RJ45.
