Installing new gladiator manually. Have solid red light. Temp locked at 120°. Leak valve open. Water is heating tank is full
Good morning, we had our Gladiator Water Heater flushed by a professional this past Monday afternoon. After they were done, there was very little water in the tray but now it is dry. After they were done the alarm came on and the service needed light is on. They told me it might take a day or two for it to dry and it will go off. Well, it was still on today. I researched on how to put it off and it said to cut the power for about 10 minutes and it should clear off. I did that but when powered again, the alarm came on again and the service need light is on. There are no leaks and we have hot water and the unit seems to working fine as usua. Two questions I have, does it need more time to totally dry? There is no visible water in the tray. As to underneath the water hearter, I cannot tell. Please advise on what to do next. Thank you.
If the service needed light is on for a Rheem Gladiator Water Heater after flushing, despite no visible leaks and the unit functioning normally, you can try pressing the clear button to bypass the alarm and allow the heater to continue operating. This can reset the leak detection system if no actual water is present. If the issue persists, further diagnosis of the control panel or heating controller may be needed.
