HARDWARE OVERVIEW
System Hardware
802.11a/b/g/n Wireless Client
The Thor VM2 has an 802.11a/b/g/n network card that supports diversity with two
internal or external antennas. Power management for the network card is configured
with the
Central Processing Unit
The CPU is a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom processor.
The operating system is Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard 2009, Windows
Embedded Standard 7 or Windows 7 Professional.
The OS image is stored on an internal CompactFlash memory card and is loaded into
DRAM for execution.
Input/Output Components
The Thor VM2 supports the following I/O components of the core logic:

Two 9-pin RS-232 serial ports, COM1 and COM2, on dock.
•
One slot for CompactFlash (CF) card for operating system storage.
•
One slot for SD memory card for storage expansion.
•
Integrated keyboard with programmable keys.
•
Ports available via adapter cables on dock: USB host port, CANbus, Audio. USB client
port is not supported with Windows Embedded Standard 2009, Windows Embedded
Standard 7 or Windows 7 Professional. Multiple USB host ports are available when
using the Enhanced Dock.
•
Direct connections on Enhanced Dock: Ethernet and USB host. A BIOS and operating
system upgrade is necessary for other operating systems. See
