Push the battery lock switch in, slide it to the unlocked position, and remove the door. CAUTION: The SHC5000 is not sealed against water and dust when the battery door is not installed.

You can try different profiles to see which one works best for you. Note: When using the capacitive touchscreen on the SHC5000 in wet conditions, you must use your finger or the soft-tipped stylus that is included, even after selecting the wet conditions touchscreen profile. The hard-tipped stylus will not work.
SHC5000 is in use. Power Management The SHC5000 runs on battery power, using a rechargeable Li- Ion battery pack. The SHC5000 also has an internal battery. The SHC5000 operates on either or both battery packs.

We recommend that you keep the SHC5000 battery pack(s) charging when it is not in use for up to two weeks. When you plug the SHC5000 into the wall charger that comes with it, the batteries are prevented from being overcharged.

CAUTION: Be aware that when the SHC5000 is powered off, it closes all programs and powers down all system components.

CAUTION: Be aware that during a reset, applications are closed and unsaved data is lost. To reset your SHC5000, Go to the Start menu, select the Power symbol, and select Restart. Some early SHC5000 models require the use of a USB to HDMI dongle in order to use the HDMI feature. The HDMI port on the dock can be used if the SHC5000 has three rows of docking pin contacts. A dongle is required for HDMI if the SHC5000 has two rows of docking pin contacts.

SHC5000. Storing the SHC5000 and Battery Pack When the SHC5000 is not being charged and is in a sleep state, it draws a small amount of power. This power draw is used to maintain the memory (RAM) of the SHC5000 in the same state it was in when it was awake.
Use warm water, a mild cleaning solution, and a soft bristle brush to gently clean the SHC5000. CAUTION: Do not direct a high-pressure stream of water at the device to clean it. This action could break the seal, causing water to get inside the device and voiding the warranty.
