I just drained my Caldera Spa (Seychelles) and now it doesn't seem to be heating
Your Caldera Makena spa may not be heating after draining due to several reasons:
1. Economy Mode – If the spa is in economy mode, the heater will not activate. Ensure the spa is set to the correct mode.
2. Low Water Level – The spa must be filled to at least 1 inch above the highest jet. Check and adjust the water level if necessary.
3. Temperature Difference – If the water temperature is more than 20°F cooler than the set temperature, the heater may not activate immediately.
4. Freeze Protection Mode – If a potential freeze condition is detected, the hydro jet pumps will activate instead of the heater. This is normal and does not require corrective action.
5. Open Sensor or Overheat Protection – If the high-limit temperature sensor is non-functional, or if the water temperature reaches 112°F, the system will shut down. In such cases, turn off all power and contact your Caldera dealer for repairs.
6. Unsecured Pump or Heater Connections – After draining and refilling, ensure that the unions on either side of the pump(s) and heater are hand-tight.
