1. Coolant temperature sensor
Refer to ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION
for testing and replacement procedures of the
coolant temperature sensor (CTS).

WATER PUMP HOUSING

The water pump housing is located on the engine,
clutch side.
Water Pump Housing Removal
WARNING
To avoid potential burns, do not remove the
coolant tank cap or loosen the cooling drain
plug if the engine is hot.
Drain cooling system. Refer to
PLACEMENT in this section.
Remove radiator outlet hose from water pump
housing.
Remove screws retaining water pump housing.

Water Pump Housing Inspection
Check if gasket is brittle, hard or damaged and
replace as necessary.

Water Pump Housing Installation
The installation is the opposite of the removal pro-
cedure.
CAUTION: To prevent leaking, take care that the
gasket is exactly in groove when you reinstall
the water pump housing.
Tighten screws of water pump housing in a criss-
crossed sequence.
