Maintenance

Engine coolant

The high-pressure cooling system
has a reservoir filled with year
round antifreeze coolant. The reser -
voir is filled at the factory.
Check the antifreeze protection and
coolant level at least once a year, at
the beginning of the winter season,
and before traveling to a colder cli -
mate.
WARNING
Radiator/Inverter cap
Never attempt to remove the radia -
tor or inverter cap while the engine
is operating or hot. Doing so might
lead to cooling system and engine
damage and could result in serious
personal injury from escaping hot
coolant or steam.
Recommended coolant
When adding coolant, use only
deionized water or soft water for
your vehicle and never mix hard
water in the coolant filled at the
factory. An improper coolant mix -
ture can result in serious malfunc -
tion or damage.
• Do not use alcohol or methanol
coolant or mix them with the
specified coolant.
• Do not use a solution that con -
tains more than 60% antifreeze
or less than 35% antifreeze,
which would reduce the effective -
ness of the solution.
• The cooling circuit of a vehicle
equipped with a heat pump sys -
tem may freeze in extremely low
temperature when the concen -
tration of the antifreezing liquid is
below 45%.
For mixture percentage, refer to the
following table.

windshield wiper fluid stopped squirting. the fluid is topped off. there are no obvious obstructions to squirters. Could it be a fuse?

Yes, a blown fuse could be the reason the windshield wiper fluid is not squirting on a 2020 Kia Soul. The manual mentions checking and replacing blown fuses, ensuring they fit tightly to prevent electrical system issues. If the washer fluid system is not working, checking the fuse related to the washer pump would be a logical step.
