Other Payment Options

Toast can support an unlimited number of additional or alternative payment options to
be accepted by your restaurant. Other payment options allow your restaurant to accept
alternative payments that are not cash or credit cards. LevelUp™, or a non-cash option such
as GrubHub™, are two examples of other payment options you might consider adding.
On the Payments > Other Payment Options page of the back-end, add payment types
that are not cash or credit cards.
From the New Payment Option page, enter the information in the text fields. Begin by
naming the payment option as it should appear on the payment screen. You can add a
description if you'd like as shown below.
Once you add a new payment option, you can configure it according to your
workflow. After successfully adding, you'll be able to accept it on your POS and track the
reports right away.
Require Manager Option - A manager would need to enter their passcode for an
employee to apply this payment method.
Treat as Discount -Applying a partial balance as this payment type would not
subtract from taxes due as a discount would behave. A receipt with the remaining
balance due will print.
Tax Exempt - Remove taxes from the entire check. Intended for third party order
and delivery services.
Tips Enabled - Customers would have the ability to apply a tip on the receipt, printed
or digital.
Allow Rewards Program - The payment type can be used with the Toast Rewards
Card or Program to earn points.
