APPLICATION
The VT117 Radiator Thermostat senses the air temperature
around it and can limit room temperature by regulating individual
radiator output in wet central heating systems. Radiator
thermostats are particularly useful in taking advantage of
uncontrolled heat gains (e.g. solar gain or an open fire in a
living room).
According to Building Regulations Part L1 radiator thermostats
should be fitted "on all radiators except in rooms with a room
thermostat" to satisfy either Minimum or Best Practice
installations. The valve can be mounted vertically or horizontally
at either end of a radiator.
To work correctly, the VT117 should be installed to a two pipe
heating system and also have a free flow of air around the head
to sense temperature.

Can you tell me how to use this Honeywell radiator valve/control please? I don’t understand the significance of the button on the numbers row orwhat the verticle molded sticking out bit on the grey ring underneath it does. All I want to do is to ensure that the heat is set at medium, not high. Thank you.

To set the heat to medium using the Honeywell VT117E radiator valve, turn the thermostat head to position 3 or 4, which corresponds to approximately 17°C to 20°C.

Yes, the VT117E includes a removable insert (V100U) that incorporates an integral balancing device. This device can be adjusted by inserting a screwdriver into the slot and turning it to limit the maximum opening of the valve.
