Moving System Jumpers

Before doing the procedures in this section, make sure that
your system is powered off and unplug the AC power cords
from the back of the chassis. Failure to disconnect power
before moving the jumpers can result in personal injury and
equipment damage.
Observe static precautions. Use an antistatic wrist strap.
To configure the system jumpers on the system board:
1. Power down the system and remove all power cords from the system.
2. Remove the rear access cover following procedures described in Chapter 4
of this guide.
3. Remove the processor board access cover following procedures described in
Chapter 4 of this guide.
4. Refer to Figure 3-1 and locate the position of the system jumpers that you
are changing on the system board. To change a jumper setting, use a pair of
needle-nose pliers or your fingers to remove the jumper from the jumper
storage location (pins 1 and 2). Position the jumper over the two pins for the
desired setting and press it onto the pins. Be careful not to bend the pins.
Refer to Table 3-4 for system jumper settings.
