Pitching & Striking Instructions for :-

joints, poles or fabric. It is important that the tent is properly guyed at all times, particularly in strong winds
otherwise pole or joint damage may occur.
DO NOT PUSH TENT PEGS IN BY HAND, ALL TENT PEGS SHOULD BE DRIVEN HOME USING A
WOODEN OR RUBBER FACED MALLET OR SIMILAR TOOL.

  • Page 2 Page 1 Pitching your Awning Remove your Khyam from its carry bag and spread out in a star shape on the ground. See Fig’s 1 - 5 Ensure that no material is trapped in the central hub and that the fabric is free to move up and down the poles.
  • Page 3 Page 2 Pitching your Awning Taking one pole section at a time, keep the lower joint on the floor and extend the automatic joint as far away from the hub as possible as shown in Fig’s 7 - 8. Again check that the flysheet fabric is free to move and is not caught in the joints or central hub.
  • Page 4 Page 3 Pitching your Awning Lifting one side of your awning, lock off the lower manual joint, you will find it necessary to pull the flysheet material downwards so the auto joint is clear of any sleeve. Repeat the same process on the remaining 3 main poles see Fig’s 15 – 19. Securely peg all the pegging points around the entire base perimeter of the awning.
  • Page 5 Page 4 Pitching your Awning Remove the corner guys from the protective bags and unravel the intermediate guy ropes ready for pegging. Position and peg all guy ropes as shown Fig’s 23-25. Removing and or repositioning the zip out panels. (Dub Hub, Dub Hub XL & RV Hub only) Firstly unpeg the panel to be removed and unclip the ‘zip retainer’...

Connection to your vehicle Please take great care when erecting, using and dismantling your awning near to your vehicle.
  • Page 7 Page 6 Connection to your vehicle 2/ Once your vehicle is positioned and awning connected you can adjust the position of the awning a little to get a better fit. This can be done by removing all pegs apart from the pegs in the guy ropes directly opposite the vehicle side of the awning.
  • Page 8 Page 7 Striking your Awning Now your awning is sitting on its ‘knees’ depress one of the upper manual joints closest to the hub Fig 41 allowing the collar to slide past the tongue Fig 42. Continue around the awning unlocking the remaining three upper manual joints. Fig 43 Gently fold and gather poles together into a vertical position and secure the folded poles together by fitting and tying the pole end bag into place.
  • Page 9 Page 8 Striking your Awning Once you have gathered all the flysheet layers together into a rectangular shape, gently roll the poles back towards you. Fig 48 Neatly gather the webbing straps together and fold across the awning Fig 49 & 50 Place the open carry bag over the rolled awning and then roll the carry bag and awning over so you can zip the carry bag closed.
