BATTERY/CHARGING SYSTEM
BATTERY
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
Open the seat and remove the maintenance cover
while releasing the two tabs.
Remove the fuse box cover by releasing the tab.
Remove the negative (-) terminal bolt and discon-
nect the negative (-) cable.
Remove the positive (+) terminal bolt and discon-
nect the fuse box/positive (+) cable.
Remove the battery band and battery.
Install the battery in the reverse order of removal.
NOTE:
• Connect the positive (+) cable first, then connect
the negative (-) cable.
• After connecting the battery cables, coat the ter-
minals with dielectric grease.
