Notes on Installation 1. Before installing the device, measure the front windshield viewing area, make sure not to block the driver's front view, install the device below the rear view mirror (the central, higher right position of the front windshield). And we recommend that the sky and the land each occupy 50% of the screen, fix the car holder and then adjust the device so that the lane ahead is aligned with the screen.

2 Getting Started Storage Media 2.1.1 Inserting the Memory Card Insert the memory card with the contacts facing towards the screen of the device, see the illustration below. Push the memory card in until you hear a click, indicating the card is in position. 2.1.2 Removing the Memory Card If the device is powered on, please power off first and wait for the device to completely power down before ejecting the memory card.
2.3 Connecting to the Power Supply Only use the supplied car adapter to power this device and charge the built-in battery. Connect one end of the car adapter to the power connector port on the device. USB port input: DC 5V / 1.0A. Plug the other end of the car adapter to the cigarette lighter socket of your vehicle.
2.4 Installation in Vehicles – Rear Camera (DVR-5HD only) 2.4.1 Mounting Rear Camera to the Windshield Remove the white paper from the double sided tape, stick it onto the base of the rear camera, then firmly press the double sided adhesive tape to ensure its firmly stuck.

Note: Do not install the device on a tinted window. Doing so may damage the tint film. This product is suitable for light windshield or light colour heat-resistant film windows, it will affect video quality if installed on dark windows or dark heat-resistant film windows.
2.4.2 Adjusting Rear Camera (DVR-5HD only) 2.4.2.1 Recording Rear View Once the rear camera is mounted to the rear windshield, the lens should be rotated to accommodate the external rear view as illustrated below. Slide the switch to “Rear”. Use the preview screen on the front camera to fine tune the desired lens angle.
2.4.2.2 Recording Inside the Vehicle Once the rear camera is mounted to the rear windshield, the lens should be rotated to accommodate the internal cabin view as shown by the illustrations below. Slide the switch to “Front”. Use the preview screen from the front camera to fine tune the desired lens angle.
2.5 Connect and Set Up Rear Camera (DVR-5HD only) Use the USB cable from the rear camera package to connect between the front and rear cameras. (Rear camera is included in the DVR-5HD package only. Please contact distributor for further information.) Plug phone jack into the front camera’s 2CH port.
Battery Status Indicator 2.5.1 Icon Description Full battery power. 2/3 battery power. 1/3 battery power. Out of battery power. Battery is charging. Connect the car adapter to charge the battery, until the battery is fully charged. Note: To avoid equipment overheating and possible catastrophic damage to the battery, please only use the supplied car adapter.
2.7 Powering the Device On / Off and Resetting 2.7.1 Auto Power On/Off If the device is connected to the vehicle power supply, start the car engine, the device will automatically power on and start recording. Once the vehicle engine shuts down, the device automatically saves the recording and powers off within 10 seconds.
2.8 Initial Settings Before using the device, we recommend you setup the correct Time zone, Date and Time. Note: Please note that if you press the button during recording, the system will stop recording and enter the OSD menu. Before accessing the menu make sure the recording is stopped.

3 Using the Drive Recorder 3.1 Automatic Recording Once the car engine starts, the device will automatically power on and start recording. Recording will automatically stop when the engine is switched off. Note: Some vehicle power supplies do not turn on / off automatically when the car engine starts.

Switch Camera Press to switch preview Preview screen. Indicates the strength of satellite positioning. If the icon shows in Satellite red on screen, it indicates that the Positioning camcorder cannot complete the satellite positioning. Speed Current driving speed. Indicates voice recording muted, Voice Record sound will not be recorded.
3.1.2 Emergency Recording To Start the Emergency Recording, do the following: During Video Recording, press the button to enter emergency recording mode, the “Emergency” message will be displayed immediately at the upper left corner of the screen, and the recorded file will be protected. The emergency video recording length is the same as the recording interval setting.
3.2 Add Speed Point You may customize speed cam positions in this product. When the GPS positioning is active, press to update speed camera points. This product features a capacity for 200 speed cam positions. In case you are trying to add more than that the system will prompt with the message "Speed Position is full".
3.4 Driving Safety The following driving safety function is for reference only. Drivers are advised to exercise discretion based on actual road conditions. Note: The Driving Safety function is limited to triggering no more than two alarms at the same time. If a voice and alert message have been triggered, any other alarm will be ignored until either of the two is settled.
3.4.2 Speed Limit Alert If the Speed Limit Alert function is enabled, this product produces an audible alert and screen message once your car’s location is determined by GPS and its running speed exceeds the set limit. To activate the Speed Limit Alert, do the following: Press the button to enter the OSD menu.
3.5 Parking Mode To monitor the vehicle when it is parked, you can activate Vibration Detection, or Motion Detection. Follow the steps below to change the settings for Parking Mode: Press the button to enter the main menu. Press the button to select Parking Mode, and then press...
• Motion Detection: - If disconnected from the external power supply when the device is powered on, the system will display the alert message “Press OK to power off or enter Parking mode after 10 sec”. This means the system will enter Motion Detection automatically in 10 seconds, and then the LCD screen turns off (the device will turn off the screen temporarily, but will remain in standby detection status.
3.6 Collision Detection If the Collision Detection function is enabled, this device begins emergency recording once it detects any collision. The sensitivity of the Collision Detection function is set to Normal by default, to change the settings of Collision Detection: Press the button to enter the OSD menu.
3.7 Driver Fatigue Alert If the Driver Fatigue Alert function is enabled, this product produces an audible alert and screen message one hour after it has begun recording and repeats the alerts every half hour afterwards. Press the button to return to the recording screen. After enabling LDWS, the screen will display a traffic lane align icon in green , please adjust the camcorder so the slash lines are centred in the driving lane. This product produces an audible alert and screen message when LDWS is activated.
3.9 FCWS Once your car’s location is determined by GPS and the FCWS function is enabled, this camcorder produces an audible alert and screen message when you drive at speeds over 60 km/h (37 mph) and are less than 20 m away from the car in front of you. If the camcorder is not connected to a satellite, and the distance from the leading vehicle is below 20 meters, it will also produce a warning screen and an audible beep reminder.

3.11 Playback Videos and Photos 3.11.1 Playback Press the button to enter the OSD menu. Press the button to select Playback, then press the button to enter the function menu. Press the button to select file types (Video / Event / Picture), and then press the button to enter menu.

5 Connecting to Other Devices 5.1 Connecting to the Computer You can connect the device to a desktop computer or notebook to transfer or view files. Connect the mini USB cable to the power connector port of the device. Connect the other end of USB cable to an available USB port of your computer.
5.2 Connecting to TV You can use a HDMI cable to connect to a TV to play the file. Power on the device. Connect HDMI cable to device HDMI port. Connect HDMI cable to TV HDMI port. Power on TV, switch TV signal input to HDMI, use the buttons to operate the device.
6 Installing the Software Place the attached CD ROM into the CD drive. If the CD does not execute automatically, please use Windows File Manager to execute the Install_CD.exe file on the CD. The following screen will be displayed. Press the [Menu] item to start the installation process and follow the instructions on-screen.
