We are unable to move the knob that controls the water temperature to the hottest level and don’t know how to open it to see if there is a soap residue build up

To check for soap residue buildup if the temperature control knob is stuck, follow these steps:

1. Turn Off Water Supply – Ensure the water supply is turned off to avoid leaks.
2. Remove the Handle – If the knob is stuck, try loosening the set screw holding the handle in place.
3. Detach the Temperature Control Knob – Carefully pull off the knob after loosening the screw.
4. Inspect and Clean – Check the area for soap residue or mineral buildup. Use a suitable cleaner, avoiding acids like hydrochloric or phosphoric acid.
5. Reinstall the Knob – Once cleaned, reinstall the knob and tighten the screw.
6. Test the Functionality – Turn the water back on and check if the knob moves freely.

If the knob remains stuck, additional disassembly or professional assistance may be required.
