If the camera is subjected to substantial vibrations, shocks or pressure, take your camera to your nearest PENTAX Service Center and have it checked. • The temperature range for camera use is 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F).

Turning the Camera On Remove the Lens Cap and Press the Power Button. The camera turns on and is ready to take still pictures. Press the power button again to turn the camera off. Make the Initial Settings. The [Language/ ] screen appears when the camera is turned on for the first time.

Taking Pictures Once the camera is ready for use, you can start taking pictures. Holding the Camera Horizontal position Vertical position To prevent camera shake, hold the camera firmly with both hands so the camera does not shake when the shutter release button is pressed. This camera features Shake Reduction function that makes it possible to reduce blur when taking pictures without the use of a tripod or other support.
Letting the Camera Choose the Optimal Settings This camera is equipped with a variety of functions. First, try to take pictures using the simplest shooting mode. Set the mode dial to In b (Auto Picture) mode, the camera selects the optimal shooting mode for the subject.
