    SRM-5000 SERVICE INFORMATION 2 EMISSION ADJUSTMENT GUIDE 2-1 General adjusting rules A. Before starting the unit for adjustment, check the following items. 1. The correct spark plug must be clean and properly gapped. 2. The air filter element must be clean and properly installed.

    SERVICE INFORMATION SRM-5000 2-3 Adjusting carburettor 1. Start engine and warm it up well as follows. (1) Warm engine up for approx. 1 minute at idle speed. (2) Warm it up alternating engine speed between half-throttle speed (Partial speed approx. 6,000 r/min with nylon line head, 7,000 r/min with metal blade) and idle speed every 2 seconds for 2 minutes.

Start engine again, and verify engine idle speed ranges from 2,000 to 2,700 r/min, and WOT engine speed ranges from 9,700 to 10,300 r/min (When using metal blade : 10,500 - 12,000 r/min). Make sure the cutting device does not rotate when engine is idling.
