- If you have Hitachi 1500,
2500,
or 3500 CD
drives,

no

- If you do not have Hitachi
1500, 2500,
or 3500 CD drives,
answer yes.
The compilation screen appears and informs you of how many
drives Check CD Program 3.00 attempts to find and the l/0
address you selected. The displayed information was compiled
from your answers in the control address menu screen and the
conditions
screen.
The compilation screen prompts you to strike the space bar to
continue.

Press the space bar. Check CD Program 3.00 tests your CD drives in
sequential order for
Select, Reset, Seek,
and Read functions. When an
attached CD drive receives an error
message,
go to section 10 to cor-
rect the error and then rerun Check CD Program 3.00.
To print screen messages
,
press
<Ctrl> <Print Screen>
with a printer
connected and ready to print before you begin. Press
<Ctrl>
<Print
Screen>
again when you finish.
Drive 0 (see fig. 4) working
properly,
as indicated by the "No Er-
ror"
messages.
If you do not receive error messages for the at-
tached CD drives and if the test is dumped from the
correct
drive
,
your CD drive is functioning
normally.
Put your Check CD Pro-
gram 3.00 diskette
away
in a secure place for future testing that
OCLC may ask you to
perform.
Go to section 8 to install the MS-
DOS CD-ROM Extensions software
.
Drive 1 (see fig
.
4) is not working properly as indicated by the
"Drive Not
Ready" messages.
"Drive Not Ready" and "Time OutEr-
ror"
messages are normal for empty or open drives
.
If you receive
either of these messages for the above reasons, your drive is function-
ing
normally.
Insert a compact disc and close the drive door. Rerun
the Check CD Program
3.00.
You should now receive a "No Error"
message.
Put your Check CD Program 3.00 diskette away in a secure
place for future testing that OCLC may ask you to perform. Go to sec-
tion 8 to install the MS-DOS CD-ROM Extensions software.
